There are useful skills to consider when dealing with conflict situations in business teams.
In this episode of The Beauty of Conflict, Susan and CrisMarie give the second part of a presentation at the TERRA Staffing Group. This time they break down what they call the conflict compass to provide tools for teams to respond with vulnerability and curiosity in conflict rather than react. The body is a great place to start identifying the natural response one has when in conflict. Taking a moment of bodily self-awareness calms us down and makes us more open to having productive conversations. Susan and CrisMarie also discuss how everyone interprets facts differently when processing a situation. In conflict, it is essential to check out your story with curiosity with someone else’s to get to an understanding. Finally, using the conflict compass they bring the self and the relationship sides together to see how they can affect business, share examples of when it might be best to slow down and ensure all perspectives are heard.
