Do You Feel Like an Imposter?

Women often feel like imposters, and that it’s just a matter of time before someone finds out they’re a fraud. Even the most successful women fall prey to it:

  • Kate Winslet – “I’m there thinking, ‘Oh my God, I’m rubbish and everyone is going to see it. They’ve cast the wrong person.’”

  • Sheryl Sandberg – “I believed that I had fooled everyone yet again. One day soon, the jig would be up …”

  • Amy Schumer – “Why is Hollywood playing this big trick on me? When are they going to realize that I’m disgusting and that I have no right to be in a movie…”

Really? Yes.

I’m a life coach. I love coaching women, because women have so much freaking potential right under their noses –they don’t even recognize.

I’ve coached famous actors, singers, corporate executives, and elite athletes. (Yet, still I struggle some days saying I am a life coach – or good enough). Honestly, it’s so rewarding seeing a woman finally own her magnificence. It makes it easy to spark her amazing talent into a wildfire blaze of success. Sometimes this work sparks my own inner light!

So whatever change or result you’re looking for:

  • Getting a new job

  • Eating right and going to the gym regularly

  • Creating a more fulfilling relationship with your partner

  • Auditioning for that play

It’s your thinking that’s holding you back. The good news: you can change your thinking and change your results. I want to give you a simple tool to start to work on your thinking.

Bragging

Yes, bragging. Have you noticed that most women don’t brag? Heck, most women don’t even share all the amazing things they are working on.

For example, here in Montana, we have lots of quilters, mostly women. Yes, these women spending hours, weeks, and months creating gorgeous quilts. Then, they give them away! I can guarantee if guys quilted, we’d have quilt billboards and asking prices of $100,000.

I want to experience more women having that level of confidence, boldness, and bragging rights to their accomplishments.

Your challenge this week: BRAG!

Yes, brag everyday with at least three brags. Here are mine for today:

  • I got all the laundry done while writing my blog for this week.

  • I had two girlfriends over for dinner and had them cook while we provided the wine.

  • I looked fabulous in my new coat whenever I went out!

You can coach the person who listens to you to simply say, after each brag, “Well bragged!”

What are your brags? If you haven’t already, join us on Facebook in Women with Mojo, and feel free to brag on the forum.

Hugs,

CrisMarie

BTW, you’re going to be seeing us in your email box every other week. We’re going to see how you like it. We want you to have a chance to miss us! 😉
