My Chicken Soup! What’s Yours?
Recently, I was engaged in a coaching session with our rock star business coach. I was sharing why I struggled to say I could fix someone’s problem.
My coach stopped me and said, “You need to own what you offer like I own my fabulous chicken soup.”
She went on. “Just this past weekend my husband was busy doing his man thing, and I walked into the garage and said, ‘I just made some awesome chicken soup, and let me just say, you will be missing out if you don’t get in here to have some.’”
“Susan,” she told me, “you have to own your coaching like I own my chicken soup. I know my chicken soup is something special.”
Somehow the metaphor of chicken soup really worked for me.
My Chicken Soup – Get Unstuck
I’ve just wrapped another great run of Get Unstuck. I love doing this program. It’s got all the elements that work for me and make for awesome chicken soup:
Solid, simple, practical tools that drive transformation.
Coaching that gets right to the point and invites choice.
A welcoming space for people to show up and engage at the level that fits for them each week and throughout the program
Laughs, tears, and warmth, which makes any journey easier.
Contact and connection that invites people to create the relationships that work and take charge of their unique day-to-day lives.
I know it’s transformational because it always transforms my life. This time was no different.
I’ve been wrestling with making some important moves to shift my focus. I won’t lie. I’ve been stuck rationalizing my immobility for months (really, well over a year).
During the course of this past Get Unstuck, I was walking the participants their roadmaps, and I was using myself as an example, and in that moment I recognized, I was board role that was holding me back. So I decided I needed to let go of that role. I made a bigger commitment to bring my Mojo work to Montana by starting Master Facilitator Training in equus coaching. Finally, I’ve launched my Mojo coaching right here in Montana, and we filled our February Find Your Mojo in Montana program for 2019! (BTW, we still have spots in our May Find Your Mojo in Montana – come play with us!)
The Participants in Get Unstuck
I also had the privilege of witnessing people in the group make their BIG Moves.
One woman, Callie, was so eager that each week she applied the tools I provided to make some huge changes in her career. She got clear on her business vision. She developed her business plan, and took steps to start her blog and website. In our final class, Callie was worried she wouldn’t keep her momentum going. I reflected back that this was a kink, a limiting belief and we could work on it in our follow up coaching session.
During that final coaching session that kink turned out to be Callie’s fear of rejection. As we unraveled that fear, she recognized that she really wanted to pursue a wild idea that was much more fun, relaxing, and easy. Callie is now excited about making her dream come to life. I can’t wait to see what she does with her next big move!
So many times I find people are stuck in a belief that work, or service to the world has to be serious, smart, or profound. That’s not true - it just needs to be YOU. (or as my coach says, Your Brand of Awesome Chicken Soup!)

Stuck in Your Relationship?
I’ve also being doing some great work with a program I developed called “Get Unstuck for Couples.” It is a customized coaching package just for couples.
Get Unstuck for Couples – Meet Fran and Sam
I worked with both Fran and Sam as individuals and together in a group. They gave me a call when they were making some big decisions about their careers and family.
They were each facing different challenges and told me the other person was stuck! HA!
Fortunately, they had the good sense not to do a whole lot of ‘you should get coaching’ or ‘you’re the problem’ to each other. Instead, they called and asked if I’d offer Get Unstuck to them as a couple. What a brilliant idea!
So, I did and it was a great success.
Using the same Get Unstuck program structure and weaving in more relational mojo tools, they did the work they needed to each individually move forward AND also stay connected and aligned as they went.
One of our sweet spots at thrive! is working with couples, so it makes sense to offer Get Unstuck for Couples!
Sometimes I can feel like I am just not able to market and sell. But I do know I have some awesome chicken soup to offer! Let me help you make your awesome chicken soup!
Take care, Susan
