Change the Conversation at Your Company

From A Couple’s Book Club!'

Our book, The Beauty of Conflict: Harnessing Your Team’s Competitive Advantage has been out for a few months now and we have been enjoying hearing from folks regarding the impact the book is having on their teams, in their organizations and even in their personal lives.

When we wrote the book, we wanted it to provide a path for leaders and teams to find us and also to use the book as a reference after we are gone. We also wanted them to keep deepening their work and remind themselves that conflict isn’t something to avoid but to use as a competitive advantage!

We are happy both of those things are happening.

However, there have been some cool additional surprises. As we launched into doing more speaking, we have been excited that some of our clients, like Microsoft, not only engaged us to speak but created a book club prior to our talk. This is exciting because they already have questions and are engaged in the content and how it applies in their workplace!

We have another client, Cray, who took us up on our offer to provide a virtual book club engagement for their managers and leaders. They now have the books in hand and we will soon be scheduling our first Virtual Book Club Q&A.

I love that teams and organizations are finding ways to create dialogue around our ideas. I have no doubt that some of the questions will be challenging and that not everyone will agree with us. However, that’s what the book is all about. Engaging dialogue, wrestling with ideas and finding ways to bridge the differences to get to new places and new ways of working together.

The book has even inspired a couple, both of whom have worked with us and know these ideas apply both at work and at home. They are doing their own book club, as a couple, to deepen their relationship!

Today, more than ever, we need to get beyond right or wrong thinking, bullying or silencing, and find ways to have tough conversations.

What can you do to make sure your team is using conflict? Don’t avoid it or just manage it - start a book club, bring us in to speak or have Virtual Book Club Q&A.

We’d love to support you having conversations and dialogue about what is most important for your team! Call us and let’s get started!
