TEDx Talk: Collective Genius
If you have been reading, or working with us for very long, you have heard us talk about using conflict rather than defusing it. What we have learned has come through our experience of both being a team, and from working with hundreds of leaders and teams over the last 15 years.
Our style of research is more hands-on and experiential, than objective and data driven. We know many of you want the research and the data that supports these ideas. So we love it when we find someone who is speaking our message and comes from the research driven side of the equation.
Meet Linda Hill
Linda is a Harvard Business School professor and co-author of the book, Collective Genius: The Art and Practice of Leading Innovation.
We recently watched her TEDx Talk: Collective Genius and looked into the research collected for the book and loved her message!
After studying innovative leaders of diverse companies, such as Disney’s Pixar the studies showed, innovative leaders were not visionary leaders.
I know, right?! Surprised?
Innovative Leaders Allow For Creative Genius
Innovative leaders were the ones who knew how create a space that allowed for collective genius to emerge. That takes a different style of leadership, one that utilizes differences as building blocks for something new and beyond what is our individual imagination.
We loved her ideas and think you will too! Watch her TEDx Talk: Collective Genius now.
