TEAMS RULE!

TEAMS RULE!

Teamwork is a choice and a strategic one at that.  Teams exist both at work and at home.  Great teams take discipline and commitment. We believe teams make better faster decisions, leverage each other’s strengths and provide smarter, more creative outcomes than any one individual, and frankly, they usually have more fun.  Having said that, we also believe teamwork takes discipline and commitment.  Anytime we bring more than one person to the table, things can get messy.  We will step on...

THE WHOLE YOU!

THE WHOLE YOU!

In order to be successful in life, so many of us think we have to compartmentalize who we are, presenting different sides of ourselves to our work colleagues, family or friendships.  At work we think we must “be professional” and...

WHO WE ARE

We are a boutique coaching and consulting firm focused on helping leaders, teams, individuals, and even couples bring more of who they are to what they do in order to get the results they want. We believe business is personal and you still have business to do. We are real, meaning authentic, honest, congruent and forthright. We are relational, meaning we value relationships where each person shows up fully, inevitably creating conflict, which can get messy. How we handle that conflict determines if we create relational health. We value both the ME and the WE of a relationship. We create possibilities. As passionate people working together toward a common goal, different opinions are bound to come up creating a power struggle. It often seems like there’s no way through. However, we believe that creativity comes when we can allow the ambiguity of not knowing the answer right away and tolerate the tension between people. Time and time again, this creates the Leap of Innovation.

Oh Sh*t! Not in Kansas Anymore

“Okay, you asked for it.  I am angry and think this is a waste of time!  People have had lots to say about how I have not done my job, but no one says any of it to me in person.  Why should I trust these people?”  Toms’, tone was loud, and as he spoke, … Continued

Getting Naked

Getting Naked

Getting Naked is title of Patrick Lencioni’s latest book, which is a business fable about shedding the three fears that threaten client loyalty. EI Tip: Influencing vs. Forcing

EI Tip: Influencing vs. Forcing

“I strongly disagree.  Plus, it is my area of expertise.  I get to make the call.” Yes, I may have actually said something pretty close to that in one of our website meetings.  I may have even claimed that I wasn’t defensive – just right! It’s possible to get my way with that type of … Continued

“The entire tenor and tone of the team has dramatically shifted. Their level of cooperation has increased significantly. They are now super quick to support each other and take ownership for work. The tension between people has been alleviated … We are focused and moving forward on our goals together and that is a big change”
Peter Cullen - General Manager Trustworthy Computing & Chief Privacy Strategist, Microsoft

"Your work with our team is helping transform the way we work together. We are a much different management team today than we were 6 months ago. Our ability to collaborate to get to great decisions quickly and have buy-in to execute results is markedly improved. Your group really understands our team and has made our team-building both productive and rewarding."
Terry Michaelson - President, Craft Brew Alliance

"I've become a strong believer in Pat Lencioni's principles and practices for achieving organizational health. I've also discovered that they are simple to understand, but challenging to implement successfully. By working with expert facilitators from Thrive!, my team was able to engage in a lot of tough but necessary dialogue. We've changed our team values and behaviors, changed some team members, and achieved a much higher level of organizational health. While we have not completed our journey, we are producing better results and having more fun!"
Mike Keller - Executive Vice President, Nationwide CIO
